BLADEN COUNTY, NC (NEWS RELEASE) -- A telephone call from the US Marshal’s Office resulted in the arrest of a couple on the run from law enforcement in Michigan.

Tracy Dean McDonald, 45, was wanted in Michigan for failing to register as a sex offender and also by the Antrim County Sheriff’s Office for larceny warrants.

The information given was that Mcdonald and Joyce Carroll Jannereth, 45, were in the Ammon area driving a Gray GMC Yukon.

The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office helicopter and investigators went to the area and around 4:30 pm Tuesday afternoon located the vehicle on Old Fayetteville Rd. near NC 242.

Patrol Deputies were on the way to Ammon when the suspects left the area traveling toward Elizabethtown on NC 242. When patrol deputies attempted to stop the GMC Yukon, a vehicle chase began. The suspects were taken into custody after they attempted to drive across a field near Lula Long Rd. The vehicle chase covered about 4 miles.

The Sheriff’s Office helicopter was instrumental in keeping a visual on the suspect vehicle throughout the incident and communicating with pursuing deputies.

The GMC Yukon had been reported stolen out of Michigan and is currently being stored at Bladen County Operations.

McDonald was charged with being a fugitive from Michigan, Felony Fleeing to Elude Arrest, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, and numerous traffic violations. He is currently in the Bladen County Jail under a $1,011,000 secured bond.

Jannereth was charged with Harboring a Fugitive and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle. She is currently in the Bladen County Jail under a $50,000 secured bond.
