ELIZABETHTOWN, NC (WWAY) -- Deputies are investigating after they say someone shot into a car with several people inside, hitting the driver in the knee.

Bladen County investigators say it happened around 1 a.m. Sunday when a car was leaving a party in the 100 block of Sand Pit Road in Elizabethtown.

Deputies say shots were fired into a car with five people inside, including Brandin Leach, 20, who was hit by a bullet in the right knee. They say Leach then drove himself to the hospital, and was later released.

Investigators are still working on suspect information, and say the investigation is ongoing.
